Active Kids Program Update: Outdoor Event Postponed Due to Extreme Heat

EFHS would like to announce that the upcoming Active Heroes Outdoor Event scheduled for 6 December 2025 has been postponed due to extreme heat, with temperatures expected to reach up to 39°C.
This decision has been made to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children, families, participants, and volunteers.

Why the Active kids Program Outdoor Event Is Postponed

According to the weekend weather forecast, the exceptionally high temperature exceeds safe conditions for outdoor activities.
As the event includes sports, games, and active participation for children, this level of heat may pose health risks.
EFHS and St. Merkorious Charity prioritise the safety of our community, making a reschedule necessary.

New Date for the Rescheduled Active kids Program Outdoor Event

The event will be rescheduled to February 2026.
We will announce the confirmed date at least two weeks prior to ensure everyone can plan accordingly.

What to Expect When the Active Kids Program Outdoor Event Returns

All planned activities will remain the same for the rescheduled event, including:

  • Soccer, Oztag, and kids’ sports games
  • Fun family challenges: three-legged race, egg & spoon challenge, sack race, and relays
  • Community BBQ
  • Raffle prize
  • Special guest appearance by Alex Twal from the NRL Wests Tigers

Registration will remain open so families and community members can still sign up for the new date under safer weather conditions.
